Psychology assessment and support
Referrals
As a child neuropsychologist I am able to provide a detailed assessment of a child or young person’s abilities in order to describe their strengths and needs and make recommendations for their development and learning. I carry out comprehensive assessments and work closely with parents and schools. I take referrals for:
Young children where there may be concern about their developmental progress.
School-aged children and adolescents where there are concerns about their learning and/ or school support needs. This may be regarding general learning and progress or a specific area of concern, for example, dyslexia or dyscalculia.
Children and adolescents where there are concerns about neurodevelopmental difficulties, such as autism spectrum disorder or attention deficit disorder.
Common concerns
Behind expected developmental milestones
Not making expected progress at school
Poor self esteem or school-related anxiety
Specific areas of difficulty in literacy, mathematics or handwriting
Slower speed of working affecting schoolwork
Planning and organisation difficulties
Distractibility and impulsivity
