Psychology assessment and support

Referrals

As a child neuropsychologist I am able to provide a detailed assessment of a child or young person’s abilities in order to describe their strengths and needs and make recommendations for their development and learning.  I carry out comprehensive assessments and work closely with parents and schools. I take referrals for:

  • Young children where there may be concern about their developmental progress.

  • School-aged children and adolescents where there are concerns about their learning and/ or school support needs. This may be regarding general learning and progress or a specific area of concern, for example, dyslexia or dyscalculia.

  • Children and adolescents where there are concerns about neurodevelopmental difficulties, such as autism spectrum disorder or attention deficit disorder.

Common concerns

  • Behind expected developmental milestones

  • Not making expected progress at school

  • Poor self esteem or school-related anxiety

  • Specific areas of difficulty in literacy, mathematics or handwriting

  • Slower speed of working affecting schoolwork

  • Planning and organisation difficulties

  • Distractibility and impulsivity

  • Education needs poorly understood

Understand your child’s strengths & needs to help them access the right support and reach their optimal potential
